Try the Demo sword-lunge jump

For a sword that still has the lunge motion, Demo players use its recovery as a cue to jump. It is an optional technique with inconsistent results.

Watch the sword pull back, then jump

Perform the sword's lunge and try jumping as the sword starts to pull back. If you use Steam Input with a controller, a community example adds a delayed Jump command to the left trigger, using 265 ms as its example delay.

Start with the right movement

Your equipped sword needs to perform the lunge being described. A changed weapon moveset is a different issue from mistiming the jump. Try the technique from a safe place where a missed jump will not send you into an unknown area.

The main opening route does not require mastering this community technique. Use the normal opening landmarks if you are simply trying to get started.

Use the recovery motion as your cue

  1. Lunge

    Perform the sword's forward thrust.

  2. Watch the recovery

Look for the sword starting to pull back.

  3. Jump

Try your Jump input at that visual cue.

This sequence shows the community's visual cue, not exact frames or a measured jump window.

The sword-jump discussion includes both successful attempts and players who cannot reproduce it reliably. One reply suggests the start of the sword's return motion as the cue; other replies describe slightly different timing.

Use your existing lunge and Jump bindings. A mouse-wheel Jump binding is another player's suggestion in the same thread, rather than a requirement.

Try the optional Steam Input example

First note your existing layout and which input activates Jump. The controller discussion gives this extra-command example, with another player reporting that it worked for them:

  1. Open the game's controller layout in Steam Input.
  2. Add an extra Jump command to the left trigger while keeping the original command. The post uses A as its Jump example; use the Jump input assigned in your layout.
  3. Set the extra command's Delay Fire to 265 ms.
  4. Try the lunge from a safe spot and observe whether the added Jump triggers as intended.

One trigger can send the original command, then a delayed extra Jump command. This is a community configuration example, not a Steam Input screenshot or a universal timing window.

265 ms is the community's reported setting. Different bindings, weapons, or frame rates can change the result; it is not a timing guarantee for every controller.

Remove the extra command if it gets in the way

Return to the same left-trigger configuration and remove the extra Jump command, leaving the original action in place. That reverses this example without changing your save.

If the real problem is weak ordinary attacks, return to attack-bar basics. If the sword no longer lunges after evolving, use the merchant replacement for the old moveset before spending more time on timing.

This optional Steam PC Demo method comes from December 2025–September 2026 community posts, checked on October 4, 2026. It is not a guide to the full game's Endu flight.
